Techniques are an essential part of the treatment and rehabilitation process, aiming to normalize the functions of the musculoskeletal system. Based on the preceding examination, we influence the optimal function of the soft tissues, joints, and spine during therapy.
Effective and gentle techniques for

Rib cage and pelvic joints
- Manual therapy involves specific manual techniques used during the assessment to localize and analyze a movement disorder in the extremity joints or spine. This assessment serves as the basis for therapeutic maneuvers performed by a physiotherapist, known as mobilization.
- Adhering to the anatomy of the affected joint, the manual therapist selects specific maneuvers and movement techniques according to the type of complaint.
- These techniques are suitable for both pain relief and mobilization of movement restrictions, provided that the limitations are caused by a reversible dysfunction of the joint or associated musculature. The selection of specific mobilization techniques used by the physiotherapist is determined by the assessment, restricted movement direction, and joint shape.
- Traction With traction, the therapist gently pulls both joint surfaces apart. This reduces pressure, alleviates pain, and relieves the joint capsule and surrounding ligaments.
- Gliding Technique Using gliding techniques, the physiotherapist moves the two joint surfaces parallel to each other. This improves joint play and makes movement feel easier again.
- Relaxation, Stretching, and Gliding Technique A selection of special relaxation, stretching, and gliding techniques ultimately improves the condition of the muscles and nerve pathways, allowing the newly gained freedom of movement to be fully utilized.
