Robotics with Heart: when progress becomes a plan
We know that knot in your stomach when you hope for “just a little” change. And the quiet joy after: a steadier stance, a calmer hand on the spoon, a smile after a well-placed step. At RehaZentrum Malovec we believe progress can be cultivated. It needs many high-quality repetitions, patience, and a team that won’t give up. With robotic-assisted systems — R-Gait, R-Touch, and R-Lead — we combine performance with clinical experience. Not because it sounds modern, but because it tangibly helps children and adults.
Why robotics in neurorehabilitation?
Robotics enables thousands of precise repetitions in a short time, delivers real-time metrics, and creates safe training conditions. This gives the brain more meaningful input — the foundation of neuroplasticity. Our team guides, motivates, and adapts: the machine multiplies; the human decides.
R-Gait: practice walking — safely, rhythmically, again and again
R-Gait offers a protected environment for children and adults: heel-to-toe, in a consistent gait rhythm, with body-weight support — without fear of falling.
More steps in less time mean more learning opportunities for stability and safety. Suddenly a child holds standing longer, straightens up, looks ahead — and parents see: it works.
Hands are half of independence: R-Touch
By first grade it’s obvious: writing, zippers, snacks, LEGO, tablets — hands are everyday life. So we give them the same priority as legs.
R-Touch, a soft robotic glove, “wakes up” fingers and the wrist — from passive movement to active participation. With mirror therapy, the brain “sees” the weaker hand working too. Game- and task-based modes extend attention — “again!” Meanwhile we measure grip strength, range and quality of motion — and fine-tune therapy.
“I can’t move my fingers” turns into “I can grasp the cup and hold it.” “I can’t” becomes “I’ll try.”
R-Lead: unloading arms, enabling movement, training attention
Once the hand awakens, R-Lead joins in. The system unloads the upper limbs and enables smooth multi-plane movements — even with limited strength. At the same time, playful tasks train attention, planning, and reaction. Body and brain sync up again.
The effect shows up where it matters: getting dressed, playing, focusing at the desk.
Robotics in concert
Robotics doesn’t replace the clinician — it amplifies the effect. To get the most out of it, we deliberately combine robotics with TR therapy (deep radio-frequency tissue treatment). It helps release high tone and spasticity, improves circulation, and primes muscles and fascia for more efficient training.
Before R-Touch/R-Lead we loosen the hands; before R-Gait we reduce spastic patterns. Result: more high-quality repetitions, greater range of motion, less fatigue.
Comprehensive rehabilitation
After a personal initial consultation, we define goals, intensity, method order, and tiny at-home mini-tasks — so progress doesn’t stop at our front door. Every steadier step and every safer grasp changes the daily life of the whole family. That’s exactly why we do this.
